Ohlook Online

About Us

Ohlook Online, grew out of necessity when Ohlook PAC was shut down due to COVID-19.  Our goal with Ohlook Online is to focus on the training, the part that sometimes gets glossed over in our desire to perform, perform, perform.  A virtual approach gives our students the ability to connect with instructors, professionals, and other students from all over the world with whom they might not have the ability to learn from if we were still working in our previous model.

Even though our meeting place has changed, OLO is still dedicated to providing the best in musical theater training. We have smaller classes so we can give focused attention to each student. We have weekly classes and camps in addition to masterclasses and intensives for the performer wanting to delve deeper. We also will continue to have masterclasses hosted by Broadway talent and industry professionals. In the past Ohlook has hosted masterclasses led by Anthony Rapp, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk, Brad Simmons, Lindsay Mendez, Corey Cott and Jay Armstrong Johnson.

Former students of our instructors are performing on cruises, national tours, Broadway, concert stages, and television shows, as well as opera houses and theaters across Europe.

OLO is still one of a handful of organizations sought after to pilot productions for iTheatrics, the leading adaptor of musicals for MTI, Disney Theatricals, Tams-Witmark, Rodgers & Hammerstein and Samuel French and recently secured a new connection to workshop new productions on the Broadway track.

During this time we know many things are uncertain, but we plan to continue training and working so when the time comes when we can all be together again, our students will be ready.

We employ some of the best instructors in the area (and now in the world)

We can't wait for you to work with them

Meet The Team

Jill Blalock Lord

Executive Director

Jill Blalock Lord began her professional career as an opera singer, performing with such companies as San Francisco Opera, Ft. Worth Opera, New Jersey Opera and Augusta Opera. She also toured extensively across the U.S., Spain, and France singing the roles of Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor and Violetta in La Traviata and Japan on the International Tour of The King and I as Tuptim, starring Stacy Keach as the King. Mrs. Lord’s life took a turn after the birth of her children, Emma and Grace. Life on the road was no longer appealing, so she looked to pursue her passion closer to home, and began Ohlook Performing Arts Center in Grapevine, TX. Through Ohlook, she hoped to create a place where students could come and learn about theater and music in a safe, non-competitive environment, and to teach and facilitate those that might be interested in pursuing it as a career. In the past 18 years she has directed and produced over 250 productions and sent off numerous students to prestigious theater schools and seen them perform on national tours, the small and big screens, concert stages and Broadway! Her biggest goal through Ohlook is creating life long fans of theater so that the arts will continue to thrive in this world. Now more than ever we need art.

Heather Biddle

Asst. Director

Heather Biddle has been teaching and working in theatre education for the past 20 years. Heather is a skilled director, acting coach and choreographer. She is passionate about working with young actors and taking them to the next level. Her students are in top theatre programs throughout the country and in national tours and Broadway shows. Heather has been selected to bring two productions to the International Thespian Convention for the mainstage, as the top high school theatre productions in the world. In her time 12 years with Ohlook Heather was part of the international acclaimed production of Dog Sees God, and won Best Supporting Actress. She believes strongly that theatre and the performing arts are the healing and social emotional backbone of our world. Now more than ever kids need the opportunity to dream and create, and the chance to learn and grow. Becoming a performer is fun but learning to work in an ensemble, discover the differences of others and celebrating those for the good they can promote is what theatre is about. Creating valuable humans who create lasting art is the biggest passion of them all.
